String Instrument Repair

Mountain Music offers string repairs, including seam repair, bridges, bow rehair or replacement, crack repair, adjustments, replacement parts and more.  

With a rental through Mountain Music, families may purchase the Liability Damage Waiver, which covers:

• seam repair
• bridge adjustment and replacement
• nut and fingerboard adjustments
• bow repairs
• 10% off dominant strings, bow replacement, or bow upgrade

( Intentional damage or neglect is not covered)

String repairs are done either in house or through a luthier like Carrie Scoggins.  Carrie received her training at Peter Prier’s Violin Making School of America and later taught Varnish and Set Up classes at the school.  She and her husband opened Scoggins & Scoggins Violin Shop, which served the Utah string community for 28 years.  Carrie is an excellent repairman whose specialty is now serving the Wyoming string community.  She is a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers and the Violin Society of America.
